Welcome to my personal website!
I'm a full-time iOS engineer at Yelp, passionate about crafting great mobile experiences.
Here you’ll find more details about my professional background, as well as some apps and side projects I’ve built along the way.

I'm Joschua Marz, born in 2000 and based in Germany.
My enthusiasm for software engineering started back in school, but it was during my dual studies that I really got into mobile development — especially building iOS apps with Swift.
What began as a growing interest quickly turned into a passion. In 2020, alongside university, I started working as a freelance iOS engineer. Just a year later, I also launched my first own app on the App Store.
Since 2022, I’ve been working full-time as an iOS engineer, continuing to grow my skills and build things I care about. On this page, I share more about my journey, the work I’ve done, and the side projects I’ve built (and continue to build) along the way.
After graduating in 2022, I joined Yelp as an iOS engineer. I started on the Biz Multiloc Ads team, building scalable ad solutions for businesses with multiple locations — think big names like Starbucks.
In early 2025, I transitioned to the SearchUX Mobile team, responsible for the Search screen — one of the most heavily used parts of the Yelp iOS app. Here, we focus on creating intuitive, high-performance user experiences that help millions of people discover great local businesses.
I joined the nutrilize team in 2020 as a freelance iOS engineer. My first task was to bring their existing Android app to iOS — creating a native Swift version that matched the original in both features and feel.
Once the foundation was in place, I continued working with the team to design and build new features that helped turn nutrilize into a powerful tool for nutrition coaches.
